Pere Murray Award Kick-Off - Ezra Ncwana'62

Athol Murray College of Notre Dame
Ezra Ncwana, from the Class of 1962, is a retired school teacher residing in Ottawa. In April this year he will celebrate his 87th birthday. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree through Notre Dame where, from 1959 to 1962, he was a student that Father Murray had rescued from potential imprisonment in South Africa.

Ezra’s two sons, Llewellyn and Bafana also went to Notre Dame and that made a tremendous difference in their lives, as they are now both parents of gifted children. Ezra’s commitment for the rest of his earthly days is to help establish a home for orphans, widows, and the aged in a part of South Africa where he had never been until he saw it for the first time in 2019 having gone there as a result of a dream.
