Boarding at Notre Dame -
Community, Leadership, Respect: A Way of Life

As a boarding school, Notre Dame offers the advantages of leadership development and personal growth through an informal curriculum of community living.
    • Boarding at Notre Dame

Over 85% of our students call Notre Dame their home, living in one of our five dormitories. The boarding environment provides an enriched, experiential learning experience, with a strong focus on leadership skill development, community, responsibility, time management, and self-reliance.

Each dormitory is administered by a House Parent who is supported by Assistant House Parents as well as a select group of Grade 12 students who have each earned the position of House Leader. Students live within their House by grades, as much as possible. Each dorm contains mostly 4 person rooms, with some smaller 2 or 3 person rooms.  Rooms may be temporarily decorated with posters, photos, and appropriate memorabilia reflecting each student’s individuality while providing the familiarity of home. Each dormitory provides a common area with television, snack kitchen facilities, and storage space for travel cases and equipment.
