The Tower of God, with its walls dedicated to the three monotheistic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) reflects Notre Dame’s open minded approach that welcomes students of all faiths and backgrounds.
Rooted in the Catholic tradition, with the Gospel of Christ as its anchor, Notre Dame’s spiritual development program includes a weekly Lord’s Day liturgy and St. Augustine’s Church, daily prayer and spiritual reflection at a student-wide assembly, a weekly Gospel reflection, Hounds for Humanity program, grade-level retreats and a charisma to intercede for the needs of others through Our Lady, Notre Dame.
A key early implementation has been the addition of an ecumenical service on Sundays, which allows our students a choice to attend either the Catholic Mass at St.Augusine's Church or the Ecumenical service at the Marshall Center (Edith Hall). This addition and continuation of the practice of worship of God on the Lord's Day is an example of affirmation and support for the College's spiritual programs.
All students participate in Christian Ethics classes which include involvement in Works of Mercy outreach, where students do “small things with great love” for our surrounding community.
Our church doors are always open, providing a quiet place for reflection and prayer.
