Bill Liskowich Leadership Award
The Bill Liskowich Leadership Award, nicknamed the "Lisky Award" was established in May of 2024 by a group of Hounds who were strongly influenced by alumnus, teacher and coach Bill Liskowich '63. They were the beneficiaries of Bill’s love and labour over the decades and said the following:
Bill Liskowich is a leader. Some of us met him in the classroom, some behind the bench of the Notre Dame Hounds, the Regina Pats teams, or the University of Regina Cougars. Bill helped students and players up their game: to be smarter and better. His welcoming smile, his amazing laugh, his powers of encouragement and challenge, helped us improve our performance in the classroom and on the ice. He pushed us and supported us.He was at his best when helping students or players who were struggling – he went out of his way to make a difference in their lives. Bill’s efforts were never forgotten by those of us who watched him work his magic in the classroom or behind the bench. Even today, after 50 years for some of us, Bill’s lessons of leadership still inspire us in our daily lives. We refer to ourselves as “Team Lisky” and proudly say “We love Lisky”! The Lisky Award has been established to support a student whose is committed to the Notre Dame ideal and celebrates the growth of their leadership skills.
