Eternal Be Their Memory: Shirley Woodard

Shirley Woodard, long time loyal Notre Dame “mom” to four sons, three of whom were Hounds (Terry, Brad and Randy) and beloved wife of our dear  alum Jessie Woodard, passed from this earthly life on Sunday, February 12, 2017.  Shirley was an exceptional woman and was a more than exceptional supporter of Notre Dame, especially with the students, staff and alumni.  She and Jessie were great hosts to many a Hound team who travelled to Winnipeg and were hosted by the Woodard family.  They also worked ND’s summer hockey school and were the houseparents to the “little muckers” during their week long stint in  the dorms during those hockey schools.

 

Shirley’s first funeral Mass will take place in Winnipeg on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.  At Shirley’s  request,  she will be interned beside her beloved Jessie at the Wilcox cemetery.  A second funeral Mass for the repose of Shirley’s soul will occur this Saturday, February 18, 2017 @ 4 p.m. @ St. Augustines Church – Fr. Gerry Bauche presiding.  Following the Mass will be the internment at the Wilcox cemetery.  A reception will be held in the Archives Museum after the internment.
