Kirkup Perfect in 12-0 Win over Red Sox

Notre Dame Hounds U16 pitcher Avery Kirkup pitched a five-inning, perfect game against the Regina Red Sox.  The Hounds mercied the Sox 12-0 based mostly on a seven-run fourth.  Kirkup needed only 56 pitches to dismiss the Red Sox in five innings.  In addition to allowing zero hits, he struck out twelve and walked none.  One Red Sox did reach base on a missed third strike but two pitches later, that runner was picked off preserving the perfect game.  At the plate, the Hounds were lead by Johnathan Verity and Lucas Scheck.  Both hitters picked up two hits.  One of Scheck's two hits was a double.
