Hounds lose opening game at provincials in Double OT shootouts

In an exciting opening game of the provincials, the #6 ranked ND Hounds dropped a Double OT Shootout decision to #3 ranked North Battleford John Paul II. Tied 1-1 at half, North Battleford scored 4 goals in a 15 span to start the second half and take a 5-1 lead. Down, but not out the "never quit" Hounds chipped their way back and scored 4 of their own in the last 10 minutes of the game to force OT. Double Overtime solved nothing, so the teams went to shootouts where North Battleford prevailed. Goal scorers for Notre Dame were Marcus Choy with 3, Nikita Khavronin and a own goal.
