Saskatchewan Notre Dame Hounds Enjoy Visit To Dryden

92.7 FM Dryden
A quick stop for practice and sight-seeing for the Notre Dame Hounds Midget Hockey Team.

Coach Bob Baumuller is originally from Dryden and says the Saskatchewan team decided to take a stop in Dryden since it was along the way to their tournament in Thunder Bay on Friday and he wanted to show the team his hometown.

Baumuller also says Dryden has changed a bit since he left but mentions that their visit was excellent.

He also says he appreciates the hospitality and friendliness of the community.

The coach also pointed out a specific situation where the team was eating at the Patricia Inn and they were delighted to find out that a family paid for their meal which really helped out with their travelling budget.

Baumuller says he unfortunately wasn't able to find out which family paid for their meals, but he'd like to find out so he could send them some things from the college as thanks from the team and to thank them personally.

The team's bus, like many other teams across Canada and the U.S. sports a Humboldt Broncos logo that says "Humboldt Strong".

Baumuller says as a team in Saskatchewan they honour the memory of that crash every day as the event hit very close to home and one of the players that survived the crash played for the Hounds as well.
