Director of Hockey Development

We are currently accepting applications to join Notre Dame as the Director of Hockey Development for the Hounds Hockey program.  We are looking for an experienced and dynamic leader with the vision and skills required to manage a highly competitive hockey program. The Director of Hockey Development is responsible for the Hounds Hockey program, and the recruitment and retention of student athlete hockey players and high caliber and character coaches.  
Core duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Collaboration with the Director of Hockey Operations in the direction and day-to-day management of the Notre Dame Hockey program
  • Successful recruitment and retention strategies for Notre Dame hockey
  • Oversight and evaluation of the Notre Dame hockey program
  • Leading the Hockey Office and Fitness Centre staff
  • Ensuring high quality internal and external communications
  • Management of the annual budget for all teams and program
  • Oversight of Hockey Camps, tournaments, and other activities
  • Serve as a member of the Notre Dame College Leadership Team
  • Lead and support the promotion of Notre Dame students in post-Notre Dame goals
  • Additional duties as required
 
Qualifications
  • Hockey Canada – (Development 1) or High Performance (HP1) certification
  • Hockey Canada - Checking Skills
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Works in a collaborative team, relationship-based environment
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, and conflict management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong organizational, administrative and computer skills
  • Commitment to the core values of AMCND
  • Coaching or relevant experience at the AAA, junior, College or Pro levels
  • Able to obtain CPR and first aid
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must provide a clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector search.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
  • Must be able to work in Canada or hold a valid Canadian employment visa
  • Must have a valid driver licence.
