Honouring Remembrance Day at Notre Dame

On Tuesday, November 11th, Athol Murray College and the Hounds of Notre Dame join with the Community of Wilcox to honour the men and woman who fought and served for our country including the 68 Hounds who paid the ultimate sacrifice giving their lives so that we may have freedom.

After the Cenotaph Ceremony, the Hounds gathered at the church to hear Grade 12 student, Caleb Pelletier, a Private from 38 Service Battalion, give a presentation. Earlier this summer, Caleb achieved Top Student during the Bold Eagle training program While in Wainwright, Alberta at the 3rd Canadian Division Training Centre.

Thank you to all Hounds who participated or performed especially grade 12 Hound, Kilian Venhorst with his perfect performance of Taps on trumpet and Female Hockey Coordinator, Sarah Hodges '92, playing 'We Remember Lament' on bagpipes.

An exerpt from the poem For the Fallen by Robert Binyon:

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
