Mandi Schwartz Memorial Tournament:

Notre Dame Hounds to Host Largest Female Hockey Tournament in Western Canada.

Wilcox, SK December 5, 2016 The Mandi Schwartz Memorial Tournament is a prestigious ice hockey tournament held annually in Wilcox, Saskatchewan at Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, home of the Notre Dame Hounds. The tournament plays host to 16 teams from across Western Canada who play in both the CSSHL and Midget AAA. The tournament will be played December 8 - 11, 2016 in the communities of Wilcox and Milestone. A total of 40 games are played over the 4 days, culminating with the championship game at the Duncan McNeill Arena in Wilcox at 3:30PM on Sunday December 11, 2016.

The Mandi Schwartz Tournament is one of the most highly scouted female tournaments in Western Canada, on average seeing close to 40 NCAA, CIS and ACAC coaches attending. There is no gate admission charge, allowing everyone to enjoy the tournament.

Since having this tournament named after Mandi Schwartz, who was a big inspiration to female hockey players across North America, the tournament has become a big honor for players & teams to participate in, and the level of competition is stronger than any tournament held in Western Canada,” said Tegan Schroeder, Female Hockey Coordinator at Notre Dame.

A ceremonial puck drop will take place on Thursday December 8, 2016 at 6:00PM at the Duncan McNeill Arena in Wilcox. Rick and Carol Schwartz will be in attendance to drop the puck and welcome the teams to the tournament. The Schwartz family will be available for media interviews following the ceremonial puck drop.
