| Edith Hall Residence And Administrative Offices | back to Boarding Life |
|
The Sisters of Charity of St. Louis erected this building in 1965 to provide adequate facilities for both nuns and students. The unique design of this building when viewed from the air is that of a Christian cross. Until 1975 it was completely self-contained with its own residential space, kitchen/dining area, laundry, lounge, study areas, and chapel. Named after Mother Edith, who served the convent as teacher, principal, Sister and Mother Superior for 30 years, the building now accommodates up to 61 Grade 9 male students and some Junior ‘A' players. The lower level contains the administrative offices of the President, Financial Services, Student Accounts, Admissions, Marketing, and the Alumni Affairs and Advancement department. In the boardroom, furniture previously belonging to E. P. Taylor at Canadian Breweries, St. Clair, Toronto, Ontario and Western Antiques, Regina, Saskatchewan, was donated and includes a nine-foot walnut table and ten matching chairs. A House Parent residence at the east end of the building was completed in the summer of 1989.
