Belise '10 To Play for Varsity Blues

MEN'S LACROSSE ADDS BELISLE TO 2010 ROSTER

Patrick Belisle has signed a letter of intent to play for the Varsity Blues men’s lacrosse program, while committing to pursuing an education at the University of Toronto in the fall of 2010.

The Regina native comes to U of T fresh after graduating from Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, where he held the highest average in physics, chemistry, calculus and trigonometry in his graduating year. As such, Belisle was honoured with both Notre Dame’s and the province of Saskatchewan’s general proficiency awards, as well as the Governor General’s academic medal for superior scholastic achievement. He has accepted his offer of admission into the Faculty of Engineering.

Belisle is just as impressive on the field. The 5-foot-6 attacker was named the top offensive player this season to cap off his four-year scholarship with the Notre Dame Hounds. He played three years with the Jr. Regina Riot and represented Saskatchewan in two national level tournaments at the under-16 and under-19 levels.

Patrick is a very talented and gifted lacrosse player, said Varsity Blues head coach Joe Nizich. Patrick’s strengths are his quickness and ability to use both hands. He should fit in nicely with the other new recruits who are coming to U of T this fall.
