Notre Dame College would like to announce the return of Hound Jason Tatarnic '91 as the Notre Dame Jr A Hounds Head Coach & General Manager. Jason comes back to Notre Dame as a coach who has a history of winning, the ability to recruit, the ability to develop players and, most significantly, understands the history and tradition of Athol Murray College of Notre Dame. Jason holds a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation & Leisure Studies from Brock University.
During the past seven seasons as a Head Coach Jason has participated in the league finals on four occasions, including two MJAHL Championships with the Woodstock Slammers. Under his guidance the Slammers have produced a .704 winning percentage over 5 seasons. Jason's previous coaching experience included coaching stints in Saskatchewan (Humboldt Broncos), Ontario (Dryden Ice Dogs), Hockey Canada's U17 Program and the Netherlands (Belfe Tigers).
Jason knows what it takes to win but at the same time he understands the importance of player development over the course of the season. Over 50 players under his guidance have advanced to the NCAA, CIS, Major Junior or Professional hockey. Recruitment of players has played a key role in his success as a coach.
Jason will arrive in Wilcox on Thursday June 3rd. He will commence his responsibilities as Head Coach and General Manager immediately.
The Notre Dame family welcomes back another loyal Hound in Jason and we look forward to meeting his family when they join him in Wilcox.
