Apr 27, 2010 - 02:40 PM

LEVIS, QUE. -- Nick Weiss has won the Telus Cup national midget hockey championship with the Notre Dame Hounds.

Weiss, a Clarington minor hockey product whose family lives in Port Hope, helped the Saskatchewan team win its second consecutive Telus Cup.

The Hounds, representing the western region of the country, completed an undefeated 4-0-3 tournament with a 3-2 victory over the Mississauga Reps on April 25 in the gold medal game.

Weiss had a goal and two assists over the seven games.

The win gives Notre Dame four gold medals at the national midget championship, which ties it with the Regina Pat Canadians for most all-time.

Weiss hopes to play Jr. A lacrosse with the Peterborough Lakers this summer.
